By sponsoring a young person with a small monthly donation, you can help provide a vital education to children of Sri Lanka’s tea plantations.
Dignity Through Education is actively searching for charitable donors to sign up to sponsor young people as part of our programme providing funding for education for young people in Sri Lanka.
Membership of our association (DTE) is free, and open to all who support the work of our association, are aged 18 or over and agree to the rules of our constitution. For a copy of our constitution and membership form, please contact Theva at [email protected]

Donors’/supporters’ contribution and disbursement of funds
Individual donors pay £12.00 per month per student paid annually at the start of the financial year. This donation is sent to the National Peace Council, Colombo, Sri Lanka. National Peace Council are a government approved non-governmental organisation (peace-srilanka.org) based in Colombo. They monitor our students’ attendance, progress and academic results. We liaise with the National Peace Council regularly to check on the correct disbursement of funds to suitably selected students. Of the £12.00, £10.00 is paid to the students and £2.00 is retained to make up for currency fluctuations, bank charges and incidental expenses.
If you do not want to commit to sponsoring a student for the full University period, we happily accept one-off donations that will be used towards sponsoring a student.
